Home sales still surge in October

Real estate sales are not slowing down as we move through the fall months. During the month of October, 62 homes sold on Daniel Island compared to 24 in 2019. The total sold volume was $57,934,023, nearly 3.5 times more than the $16,615,825 sold in 2019. 
 
The most expensive home sold was in Daniel Island Park on Creek Back Street with a sale’s price over $3.8 million. The least expensive home sold was a condo on River Landing Drive, which sold for $155,000.   
 
As of Nov. 11, there were 142 homes for sale with 61 active and 81 under contract or pending.  
 
“Daniel Island is growing in leaps and bounds. The recent sales have included residents relocating from California, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and we continue to keep our well known healthy Daniel Island residents moving within Daniel Island,” notes Renee Reinert Pote of Iron Gate Realty.
 
Pote also points out that there was a huge jump in sales in October 2020 compared to the past few years during the same month (see chart below). She sees this as significant especially since October had “COVID-19 and the presidential election the following month!”
