Majority of homes on the market in June are new construction

In June, sales on Daniel Island were up from the past several months. Forty-three homes sold during the month of June. The total amount of sales equaled $24,975,894. The majority of homes sold were in the $500-600 thousand price range. The most expensive home sold during June was in Daniel Island Park on Ithecaw Creek Street. The 4,697 sq. ft. home sold for $1.45 million. The least expensive home sold on Daniel Island in June was a 769 sq. ft. condo on Bucksley Lane. It sold for $131,000.
As of July 12, there were 186 homes for sale. There were 99 active and 87 were under contract. According to Renee Reinert Pote, broker at Iron Gate Realty, an interesting trend for June was the amount of homes on the market that are new construction.
“Of the 87 under contract, 43 are new construction… that's almost half of the properties are new construction’” said Pote. Another trend she points out is that over half of the homes on the market in the $500 thousand to one million price range, are new construction, while in the under $500 thousand price range there are no new construction homes.
