In October, 27 homes sold on Daniel Island. While sales were down in September compared to previous years, October showed a slight upturn. As of Nov. 14, there were 182 homes for sale. Of those, 135 were active and 47 were under contract. This October, sales totaled $19,809,741.

Of the 47 properties under contract, 16 are new construction and of the 135 for sale but not under contract, 30 are new construction. That means just over 25 percent of homes currently on the market are new construction homes.

According to Renee Reinert Pote and Michelle Walsh of Iron Gate Realty, a trend they are seeing is that larger homes are staying on the market a little longer. They believe that there are two main reasons for this.  

“There is more inventory in the higher price range and there is a growing trend to downsize,” they reported. “Our opinion is that both of these factors are effecting the market equally.”
