DI youth soccer standout represents US internationally

Daniel Island School eighth-grader Ava Delpino was recently selected to represent the United States International Futsal Team in Lisbon, Portugal, in December 2022. Delpino, who has been playing futsal and indoor soccer at Elite Futsal Charleston in Mount Pleasant for many years, competed in national tryouts in Kansas City to make the international team. 

 

The group played clubs from all over Portugal and trained at many of their facilities throughout their week-long experience. 

 

“It was the best week and the most amazing experience getting to do what I love – playing soccer,” Delpino said.
