Mindy Catlin is the Pigskin Pick 'Em Winner!
This week’s winner of the Pigskin Challenge is Mindy Catlin. Mindy was one of three players to go 9-3 in last week’s game, winning the tie breaker and a gift certificate to Sermet’s Courtyard, courtesy of sponsor Rosie Stieby. Overall, 20 entrants beat Rosie’s 6-6 score last week.
Mindy said of her win, “We are so excited! My daughter and I watch a lot of football. She helped with the picks this week.”
Mindy and her daughter Maddie are 12-year Daniel Island residents. Maddie is a sophomore at Hanahan and plays travel volleyball for the Charleston Juniors. Mindy, who is originally from the D.C. area, is a former claims adjuster, insurance manager and benefits coordinator. “My parents live at Kiawah and my sister and her family are in Mount Pleasant,” she explained.

Each week, we will also include a running win-loss record for each of our sponsors and the paper will donate $500 to the charity of choice of the sponsor who has the best overall win-loss record at the end of the season. The sponsor competition, Rosie Stieby of Daniel Island Real Estate remains in first place despite a down week at 6-6. The duo of Jeff Burton & Steve Meyer of Millennium Private Wealth hold on to second. Many of the sponsors had subpar picks this past week with only three of the eight sponsors sporting winning records.
