Ticket sale options adjusted for 2021 PGA Championship

The opening of the ticket purchase windows for the 2021 PGA Championship at The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island Golf Resort has been delayed, and subsequently, the online ticket registration has been extended until Aug. 9.

Ticket purchase windows were originally scheduled to begin in May, but due to the COVID-19 outbreak and its widespread impacts, that has been put on hold. However, regularly scheduled dates of the 2021 PGA Championship, May 17-23, 2021, have not been changed and preparations for play are proceeding as originally planned.

“As the world continues to grapple with the effects of this horrendous virus, we have decided to delay the sale of 2021 PGA Championship tickets to our registrants. With uncertainty surrounding travel, employment and everyday life, we do not feel it is appropriate to ask our spectators to make purchasing decisions during this time,”

Director Scott Reid said in a release. “We thank the unprecedented number of spectators who have expressed interest in attending the 2021 PGA Championship through our registration program and look forward to welcoming them to The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island Golf Resort in May of 2021.”

Fans who completed registration prior to April 28 will receive an email with more information on updated purchase windows.

To ensure widespread access to the most in-demand ticket types, 2021 PGA Championship tickets are sold exclusively through a free, no-obligation, online registration process. By registering, fans can hold their place in line — first come, first served — for the opportunity to purchase tickets when they go on sale in August. The earlier fans register the better, as historically many of the most popular ticket types have sold out in advance of past PGA Championships.

Free Throw Marathon for Special Olympics Returns

ESPN and CBS basketball analyst Debbie Antonelli will return to the court to raise awareness and funds for Special Olympics South Carolina at 24 Hours of Nothing but Net, a 24-hour free throw marathon. However, because of CDC social distancing guidelines, the event will be live streamed online from Team Antonelli’s Home Court, a.k.a. Antonelli’s driveway.

Beginning at noon on Saturday, May 16, Antonelli will kick off her 24-hour free throw marathon with her family. She will be able to track her accuracy rate and how much money is being raised online. The entire event will be live streamed on YouTube, 24hoursnothingbutnet.com, and Facebook, @24hoursnothingbutnet.

Donations can be made online at 24hoursNBN.com.

Last year, Antonelli made 2,400 free throws in 24 hours with a 94% accuracy rate. She raised more than $85,000.

Antonelli is a college basketball analyst for ESPN, CBS, Raycom Network and Westwood One. She and her husband, Frank, live in Mount Pleasant and have three sons; Joey, Frankie and Patrick. Frankie is a Special Olympics South Carolina athlete and is a rising senior at Clemson University in the ClemsonLife program. Patrick is a senior at Bishop England High School.
