Submitted by Stacy Gilroy - Maisie is about to celebrate her two-year “gotcha” day on July 22. She is a rescue and we adopted her in July 2020 from a local shelter called Eunoia Rescue. We believe she is a beagle/Australian cattle dog mix and she loves to chase squirrels and smile at everyone as we walk around the island. Her favorite place is Sermets – she loves that the waitresses there bring her treats and sometimes steak!
Submitted by Michelle Lindsey - Bogart is a rescue. He is funny, brilliant and precious… the world's sweetest soul. He loves long walks around Daniel Island, and also loves the beach and yummy treats! His absolute favorite thing in the world is going for car rides around Daniel Island, window rolled down, barking a friendly hello to everyone!
Submitted by Jolie Tarantino - Spartacus moved here almost five years ago and doesn't miss the cold weather at all. His favorite things to do are sitting on the deck, greeting people on his walks and begging for treats.

Kathy Ludlow - Who saved whom? Archie is 3 years old. He is a coon-hound mix. He is named after my grandfather who was a British major in the second World War. I like to believe he is channeling my grandfather who was a real character and so is Archie! He is super playful and loves the beach! And he’s quite the talker.
Submitted by Kathy Sanders - This is Clark! He is 1½ years old and we love him dearly! He is a golden doodle (more golden than doodle!). Interesting tidbit – we got him from a local breeder and I had a puppy class in my backyard with a trainer. She invited some of her clients and unbeknownst to us, Clark’s brother came… and lives on the Island! Small world! Clark loves his neighborhood puppy pals, all bones, his walks, and he is a cuddle bug!

Submitted by Melissa Mauro Hineman - Our family moved to Daniel Island last June. Cooper was actually presented as a future gift to our children. We told them “Guess what? We’re getting a dog…oh and by the way…we are moving.” We moved from Charlotte to Rockville Centre, New York. Cooper arrived the year after we moved to New York. We named him in honor of our favorite place, Charleston and fun times spent on the Cooper River. Our time in New York lasted only five years and we think Cooper (and our family) were always meant to live back down south. Cooper loves his new home and especially enjoys long walks with his best girl Zella, trips to The Dime for whipped cream, splashing by the beach off the walking trails and treats from Michael’s Barkery and Lucia’s. We feel really blessed to live in such a beautiful family- and dog-friendly area — we know with all certainty we are meant to be here.
Submitted by Summer Star Barnette - I adopted my first cat ever after losing my first dog and we healed each other on my favorite DI porch. Who saved whom?
