A BOOST FOR BISHOP ENGLAND
On Feb. 12, Bishop England High School held its annual oyster roast fundraiser at Jack Cantey Stadium, courtesy of the Triple B Booster Club. More than 450 people were in attendance and the club raised more than $25,000 to support athletic programs and student athletes at the school. More than 40 auction items were up for sale at the event’s silent auction, including baskets that each BE sports team put together.
Dog & Duck donated the meal of barbecue, red rice and coleslaw while Moonlighting Landscaping Lighting Systems donated the lighting for the outdoor nighttime event. Attendees enjoyed live music by Groove Kitty — a five-piece band with a Fleetwood Mac vibe that performed free of charge.
