October is Down Syndrome Awareness month and in celebration Daniel Island will host the Lowcountry Buddy Walk, one of the largest in the US, on Sun., Oct. 20 from 12-4 pm in Etiwan Park. This family oriented, fun-filled event includes lunch, live music, arts and crafts, bouncy castles and face painting. The walk, led by the Tripp and Trampus Hoover Band, begins at 3 pm on the field. Registration in advance is $10 and $15 day of (children under 3 are free). Proceeds benefit the Down Syndrome Association of the Lowcountry.
