Meet the Merchant
Fueled by their dream of coastal living and entrepreneurial spirit, Todd and Julie Erickson set out on an adventure to find the perfect spot for their next chapter.
Their journey took them along the scenic shores from North Carolina all the way down the Georgia coast, exploring every possibility, until an exciting opportunity appeared: a UPS franchise for sale on Daniel Island.
Immediately Julie Erickson knew they had found their forever island. “We drove down tree-lined River Landing to the waterfront, and it took all of five minutes for us to know that Daniel Island was going to be our new home.”
Nestled in the vibrant Publix shopping center, the store had already established a solid reputation over its 10 years in business before Todd and Julie Erickson took the reins in October 2021, ready to infuse it with their own brand of energy and vision.
Since stepping in, Julie and Todd have been actively involved in the store's operations, working to make every visit memorable. They have adopted a hands-on approach to support its daily operations.
Beresford Hall resident Dee McCreary notes that many neighbors visit the Daniel Island UPS Store for its service.
“My son is a United States Marine stationed outside our country. Julie Erickson and her husband always made sure my boxes made it to their destination. Most of the boxes were holiday gifts, birthday gifts, and just goodies being sent for the family. Julie even helped me once redo a few of my boxes so it could be sent at a cheaper rate. Julie and her husband are the best.”
Lauren Barber, Daniel Island resident and DIS PTA vice president of school engagement, shared her positive experience with the store.
“Julie and Todd have truly transformed their business into a welcoming, neighborhood mom-and-pop shop where you’re greeted by name the moment you walk through the door. And it’s not just Julie and Todd – their entire staff is fantastic. They’re efficient, helpful, and unfailingly kind, even when I show up with 10 Amazon returns at once!”
Barber also noted that the store’s staff actively participates in community events.
“From creating fun games for the Halloween Bash to baking 500 cookies for Holiday Movie Night to partnering with Daniel Island School on everything from flyers and stickers to posters – she shows up in a big way. I must mention the five-foot Oscar cutouts she printed and personally cut out all four of them! There’s truly no creative project she can’t bring to life.”
The store is open seven days a week and specializes in last minute print projects and customer support.
