Pizza A Modo Mio joins 1937 Clements Ferry Road’s growing lineup
Right in the heart of the Cainhoy corridor’s rapid growth, 1937 Clements Ferry Road has been part of the area’s evolving business landscape since 2010.
The 7,500-square-foot commercial building has long been part of Clements Ferry’s business scene, and its newest standout addition, the Italian eatery Pizza A Modo Mio, is bringing fresh flavors to the neighborhood.
Pizza A Modo Mio brings a slice of New York to Charleston with its family-owned, community-focused approach. Owner Michael Pitera described it as “a New York–inspired, family-owned pizzeria built on tradition, hard work, and a deep love for serving our community one slice at a time."
“We offer seven styles of pizza, New York bagels, crafted lattes, and fresh pastries. We are your one-stop shop!” Pitera said. “We’re a family built on passion for the craft. We want to offer that experience where you can find different styles of pizza from around the world and country.”
As a new business, Pitera praised his Clements Ferry customers. “Charleston has embraced us from day one. I love seeing our regulars come in multiple times a day with a smile on their face after they say ‘This reminds me of home.’”
Other tenants of the building include:
Dog & Duck is a family-owned and operated pub with locations across Charleston, serving up craft beer, creative cocktails, and comfort food favorites like wings, sandwiches, tacos, and their signature pub burger. The Clements Ferry Road location features a dog-friendly patio and hosts community events from oyster roasts to karaoke nights.
Co-founder Rod Bradley said, “We wanted to create a pub where family and friends could gather and feel like they were a part of our family! Our mission hasn’t changed since day one: to create a social pub that brings friends and family together while providing a quality, consistent product along with excellent service and community involvement.”
Joining the latest wave of cigar spots in the area, Legacy Cigar Lounge is a locally owned destination focused on luxury and premium service. Owner Ali Teyeb notes it features “Charleston’s largest humidor and wine bar.” Guests can enjoy master classes in wine pairings, gourmet pours, premium cigars, and even Dubai perfumes and colognes, all from the comfort of vintage leather chairs. “The community values quality and connection,” Teyebsaid. “We’re proud to provide a comfortable, upscale environment where neighbors can unwind together.”
Vennings Liquor on the Ferry offers a wide selection of wine, whiskey, tequila, bourbon, and more, making it a go-to spot for those looking to stock up on their favorite spirits. Part of a trio of locations across Charleston, North Charleston, and Summerville, the store provides a variety of options to suit every taste.
Palmetto Family Hair Designs & Spa is a full-service salon, barbershop, and spa offering expert haircuts, styling, color, and luxury esthetician services for men, women, and kids. The team works closely with clients to create personalized looks in a comfortable, inviting environment, owner Wendy Smoak said.
