Charleston Restaurant Week spotlight: The Kingstide, where fine dining meets the water
With Charleston Restaurant Week starting Jan. 8-18, one of Daniel Island's restaurants comes into focus for a taste of fine dining on the island.
The Kingstide, located at 32 River Landing Drive, paints a clear picture – one that touts waterfront views, thoughtful dishes, and a polished and comfortable dining space.
Inside the restaurant, the dining room is intimate; outside, the porch and bar open to the Wando River.
Seafood leads the menu, but influences stretch from Italian to French.
“At The Kingstide, we’re lucky to work with some incredible local purveyors like Bradford Farms, who connect us with farms across the Southeast,” said Executive Chef James Pearce. “Our seafood is as fresh as it gets, and we put just as much care into the produce and proteins that round out the menu."
Pearce also added that "you’ll find influences from Italian, Latin American, and French cuisines woven into our Southern seafood roots, creating a well-rounded dining experience with something for everyone."
As Daniel Island's only waterfront restaurant, general manager Dargan Kirby said fine dining at Kingstide isn’t only about what’s on the plate.
“We want to pose ourselves as an amenity to the Daniel Island community as a place to gather and celebrate, whatever the occasion,” Kirby said. “I believe that a good meal and nice company is a remedy for many of life's maladies, and a perfect crescendo to any day or reason for celebration."
Pearce said that the restaurant has "exciting things" coming in 2026 that he hopes will elevate Kingstide to the next level, "as a resounding moniker of how lucky we are to pass our time in such a beautiful and unique setting as Daniel Island.”
During Charleston Restaurant Week, The Kingstide is offering three dinner courses for $55.
