Earth Month events continue in the Lowcountry
As part of April’s Earth Month, events celebrating conservation efforts continue across the Lowcountry.
Lowcountry Land Trust, a nonprofit committed to conserving Lowcountry landscapes and waterways for current and future generations, invites residents across Charleston to take part in Lowcountry Earth Month.
Now in its fourth year, Lowcountry Earth Month is a collaborative initiative to connect people with nature, community, and conservation efforts throughout the Lowcountry and the places they love most.
Lowcountry Earth Month brings together over 50 organizations across the South Carolina coast to offer a wide range of opportunities for residents to connect, protect, and learn about the environment. From oceanfront cleanups on Folly Beach and Isle of Palms to oyster reef builds, bird walks, family-friendly nature festivals, and educational tours of environmental facilities, the month-long initiative makes it easy for individuals and families to get involved in ways that fit their interests.
“We started Lowcountry Earth Month to provide an easy, one-stop online resource for locals,” said Victoria Bock, communications director for Lowcountry Land Trust in a statement. “Now, community members can explore and sign up for events hosted by nonprofits, businesses, and government organizations working to protect the region’s natural resources. It’s incredible to see how the community continues to show up and support the organizations that are working to keep the Lowcountry beautiful.”
