The Exchange Club of Daniel Island hosted a free educational and family event on April 12 to promote awareness of child abuse in conjunction with National Child Abuse Prevention Month.
Blue pinwheels have been planted around the island, including at the library, the elementary school, and in front of the fire department.
The pinwheel is a traditional symbol meant to represent the great childhood that every child deserves and to remind us that we each have a role in providing a loving and supportive environment for the children in our lives.
Set up along Daniel Island Drive in front of the library, kids and adults enjoy games manned by Daniel Island School Beta Club members, face painting, a balloon artist, popcorn, and treats from the Kona Ice Truck.
