Heroes Run Interfaith memorial Service set for September 9
Mark your calendars now for the second annual Heroes Run Interfaith Memorial Service, which will occur at 7 p.m. on Friday, September 9, at Simmons Park (located next to the Daniel Island Fire Station, 235 Seven Farms Drive, Daniel Island, SC 29492).
Organized by members of Providence Baptist Church (Daniel Island) Worship Committee, this special interfaith service will include brief meditations about commemoration and hope. Rev. Dr. Colonel John Painter, Chaplain, Ralph H Johnson VA Medical Center and Air Force Reservist who served in Iraq, along with representatives from other faith traditions and various musicians will facilitate this event. This unique service will conclude with a candle lighting to honor those civilians, first responders, and military personnel who lost their lives on 9/11 and in the wars since this national tragedy.
Bring your lawn chairs to Simmons Park on Friday night, September 9, to join in a special time of remembering our fallen heroes.
