Holiday movie kicks off season fun

Now that the Thanksgiving turkey has been devoured, it’s time to kick off the holiday season festivities with the annual Holiday Movie at Smythe Park.

This year, the Daniel Island School PTA, in partnership with the Daniel Island Community Fund, will be showing “The Santa Clause” on Thursday, Dec. 4.

There will be children’s activities kicking off at 4:30 p.m., including a Reindeer Station, Snowball Toss, Snowflake Ornaments, Elf Training Camp, Holiday Balloon Globe and Holiday Face Painting.

The movie begins at 6 p.m. with an hour and 37-minute runtime.

The Daniel Island Music Academy will provide entertainment, while food vendors Holy City Popcorn, Shaka Shrimp, Pizza DaMichelin, and more, will have treats for sale.

And there will be so many more activities to enjoy around the island, along the Clements Ferry Corridor, as well as nearby Charleston and Mount Pleasant. For a detailed event calendar of upcoming events, see the next Daniel Island News issue, available at newsstands or online starting Dec. 3.
