Mystery Photo Contest - March 28, 2019
In honor of the 15th anniversary of The Daniel Island News, we are bringing back a former favorite feature – the Mystery Photo Contest! Each week, we will print a photo of a scene or object found on Daniel Island. Guess what is depicted in the picture and send your response to mysterypic@thedanielislandnews.com by noon on Saturday. A winner will be chosen randomly from those who answer correctly and announced in the following week’s issue.
CONGRATS TO ANDREW HARRIS - LAST WEEK'S WINNER!
Last week’s Mystery Photo Contest winner is Andrew Harris, who correctly identified the subject in the photo as the UBS sign at the entrance to the business on Island Park Drive, across from the gas station. He even provided the latitude and longitude coordinates for us!
“I usually see (the sign) when going to or from the carwash,” said Andrew. “It’s our first pollen season in Charleston.”
Andrew and his wife, Suzie, moved to Daniel Island from California nine months ago. Suzie was a Mystery Photo Contest winner in January. Andrew tells us he is a data scientist at Benefitfocus, “which means I get to make really cool charts and play with machine learning algorithms.”
In his free time, Andrew enjoys biking around the island, being part of the community garden, and going to Daniel Island Historical Society programs. This is his third time participating in the Mystery Photo Contest and his first time winning!
“Third time’s the charm!” said Andrew, who selected a Daniel Island News t-shirt as his prize.
