A night around the world at Daniel Island School

Daniel Island School brought the world a little closer to home with its annual World Fair, a community event that celebrates diversity, learning, and togetherness.

Families, students, and staff were invited to travel the globe without leaving the school through an evening filled with cultural displays, traditional foods, music, art, and performances from around the world. 

Families and community members volunteered to host tables that showcased their heritage, offering students hands-on opportunities to explore global traditions. Children collected passport stamps as they visited each country, learning fascinating facts about geography, languages, and customs along the way. 

“The World Fair allowed our students to see that our differences are what make us special,” said Lauren Barber, vice president of School Engagement. “They gained a deeper appreciation for other cultures, but they also took pride in sharing their own family traditions.”
