'Sounds of Summer' concert this friday at Center Park

Bring your lawn chair, beverage of choice and appetite and prepare to kick back and enjoy the second event in the “Sounds of Summer” concert series, presented by the Daniel Island Property Owners Association.

The festivities, open to Daniel Island residents and their guests, will take place this Friday, June 9, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Center Park, located at Daniel Island Drive and Center Park Street. Taking the stage to provide musical entertainment will be the Soul 7 Band.

There will be affordable food options available for purchase with several food trucks and food cart vendors at the park, who will also offer water and nonalcoholic beverages. Vendors include:

•Wraps Around The World – Specializes in different cultured wraps, sandwiches and tasty desserts

•Semila – Serving authentic Mexican Street Food

•Juice Me – Farm to cup goodness! Smoothies and juices that are local, organic, fresh, and delicious

•Wich Cream – They take the classic ice cream sandwich to the next level by combining the highest quality local ingredients with a made-from-scratch touch.

Residents who live around or near the park are invited to join the audience at the venue or host their own “Porch Party” and enjoy the concert from the comfort of their porch/home with friends and neighbors.

“This is the perfect opportunity to host an informal gathering of your own,” noted Barbara McLaughlin of the Daniel Island POA. “We’ll provide the entertainment for you and your guests!”

The last free outdoor concert in the “Sounds of Summer” series will be held on Friday, July 28, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Pierce Park lawn, featuring the Dave Landeo Band.
