VCO players dish on their favorite "go-to" snacks!
We asked some of the top seeds at the Volvo Car Open’s All-Access Media Hour on Monday for the inside scoop on what they like to grab when it comes to snacking - both healthy and not-so-healthy. Can you match the player with her answer?
Player A
Healthy: Celery with almond butter or even toast with almond butter
Cheat: Chips and guac, or salsa or nachos. Really anything that’s unhealthy - I’m all about it!
Player B
Healthy: Kale chips or fruit or fresh-squeezed juice.
Cheat: I do like dried cherries! Vegan gluten-free donuts…or the vegan ginger snap cookie I get at Whole Foods - sometimes I think about it for weeks before I get one!
Player C
Healthy: I don’t really like the healthy snacks! I like to just not eat anything at all and just stick to my breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Cheat: I’m a big chocolate fan! But I know for myself that I cannot eat it because if I eat it one day then I want it the next day again! So when I am on tournaments I try not to eat anything like that.
Player D
Healthy: Some sort of fruit or vegetable. I would have avocado toast five times a week for breakfast. I love it!
Cheat: Probably french fries. It’s hard to say no to them, especially after a loss.
Player E
Healthy: I’ve been snacking on dates during practice since Indian Wells. They are actually so tasty. And smoothies!
Cheat: Everything that’s bad!
Player F
Healthy: I really like muesli bars.
Cheat: Definitely chocolate! And I like gummy bears!
Player G:
Healthy: Fruit. I love fruit salad! (Note: this VCO player said if she was faced with a choice between cake and fruit salad, she would choose the fruit salad!)
Cheat: Pizza.
