Who says fishing is not a contact sport?

Fishing was tough this week. Early on, I ruptured a muscle in my calf. Yes, I injured myself while fishing. Who says fishing is not a contact sport? Between the pain, limited mobility and doctor appointments, I did not fish very much. When I did, the fish were for the most part uncooperative. With bite being off, which is not unusual for March, I decided to listen to my doctor (for once) and rest my calf.

What does a fishing fanatic do when they are unable fish? Talk about fishing! On Saturday, March 24 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., I will be at The Charleston Angler Saltwater Experience. The event is being held at the Shimano Experience Center in Ladson. If you like to fish and have not seen this facility, you should come to this event. It is an amazing place. Additionally, there is a great line up of seminars from local captains. While I am not speaking at this event, I will be sharing casting techniques and providing personal casting instruction. If you do attend, please take a moment to come see me at the casting station.

Also, several people have asked to see my new skiff. So, I will be bringing it to the event on Saturday. Other captains are doing the same. If you are thinking about a new fishing boat, this is a good opportunity to see several in the same place.

Thus far, my recovery is going well and I hope to return to my normal fishing schedule next week.
