Groundbreaking held for new DI Retirement community

In what continues to be a flurry of commercial and residential construction activity on Daniel Island, a Nebraska-based developer broke ground last week on Daniel Pointe Retirement Community, the island’s first resort-style senior living complex.

Daniel Pointe representatives, contractors, Chamber of Commerce members, and local dignitaries were scheduled to speak at the groundbreaking ceremony, which was held at the complex site off Island Park Drive in Daniel Island Park on March 4. A reception followed at Providence Baptist Church.

According to a press release from the project’s developer, Resort Lifestyle Communities, Daniel Pointe will offer an all-inclusive experience where one price will take care of all residents’ daily needs, including chef-prepared meals and a myriad of entertainment options with a full calendar of activities. An in-house bank, fitness center, pharmacy, gift shop, and salon will also be offered. On-site staff will provide assistance through a 24/7 emergency call system, as well as appointment transportation and valet parking. Studio, one, two and three bedroom apartments will be available for rent. A number of opportunities and incentives are available for “charter members.”

The developer stated in the press release that the complex will also “provide an array of significant long-term benefits to the Daniel Island area, including creating over 30 local jobs.” For additional information, visit www.DanielPointeRetirement.com or call Scott Beech at (843) 730-4402.
