Rona Bobey wins the football pick'em, beats Paul Conway
This week’s winner of the Pigskin Challenge is Rona Bobey. Rona was one of 19 people to beat our sponsor, Paul Conway of Tiencken Conway, LLC, who was 7-4 last week. The Seattle v. Arizona game was a tie, making last week an 11 game week.
Rona is a 19 year resident of Daniel Island (her 20th year anniversary is in February). As you can see from her photo, she is a Purdue fan. She named her first baby, a black lab, Purdue, and her first daughter is named Drew, after Drew Brees. “Hope one of my kids will go to Purdue so I can go back to college!” said Rona.
Why she plays the challenge? “I love all sports…waiting for basketball season for my Alma-mater to show up! In the meantime, I love beating my friends on DI in the Pig Skin Picks!!”
Each week from now until the Super Bowl, readers will be given the opportunity to “Beat the Sponsor” and to win great prizes. We will email a link to the survey each Monday via a Daniel Island News eblast and we will also put the URL link on our Facebook page and here in the paper. To be eligible to win, you must select your entries online by noon on Friday. There is no cost to enter. If you’d like to be added to our eblast, please send your email address to sdetar@thedanielislandnews.com.
To enter, go to https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/N9M9NF8 and fill out your ballot.
Each week, we will also include a running win-loss record for each of our sponsors and the paper will donate $500 to the charity of choice of the sponsor who has the best overall win-loss record at the end of the season. In the sponsor competition, Drs. Jackson and Basha continue to hold on to first with a two-point lead over Rosie Stieby.
This week is your opportunity to beat Cara Schaafsma of Iron Gate Realty for an opportunity to win a $50 gift certificate to Vespa.
