DI hosts 'Lovin' the Lowcountry' Fall Celebration
The title of the event may have been “Lovin’ the Lowcountry” - but it was The Footlight Players, one of the oldest community theaters in Charleston, that served as the focus of affection on November 3 at Daniel Island’s Pierce Park Pavilion. The festivities were held as a fundraiser for The Footlight Players and included a Lowcountry boil, a silent auction, and entertainment by the Shem Creek Boogie Band, and S.C. Shagging Hall of Fame dancer Claude Robertson and dancing partner Linda Ouzts. The $9700 raised at the sold out event will help The Footlight Players purchase additional wireless microphones for the actors to wear on stage during performances.
