Annual 'Concert in the Park' set for May 27

The annual “Concert in the Park” at Smythe Park is quickly approaching! The Daniel Island Property Owners Association is encouraging island residents to get their picnic-themed ideas in order for this year’s event, scheduled for Saturday, May 27. Jeremy Davis and The Equinox Jazz Orchestra will be back for a free concert on the island in Smythe Lake from 6 to 10 p.m. The lake provides a stunning backdrop for this popular, family-friendly island tradition. Once again, prizes will be awarded for most elaborate and creative picnic spreads. Picnic/Tent Judging begins at 6 p.m. with the concert beginning at 7 p.m. This event is a “bring your own picnic” style, however, should you wish instead to purchase food at the event, the following vendors will be on site: Dashi, Damiano’s Wood Fired Pizza, Lucky 17, BKed Pretzel Cart, Holy City Homemade Italian Ice, King of Pops and Wich Cream.
