Land use and zoning activities on Daniel Island
These are the issues being brought before the various City of Charleston boards and committees that are specific to land use and zoning on Daniel Island. City of Charleston Technical Review Committee (TRC) — At the June 14 meeting, the TRC asked that the preliminary subdivision plats and road construction plan for the extension of Robert Daniel Drive be revised and resubmitted as needed. Once in-house approval is obtained, the plats are to be sent to Zoning for stamping and the road plan to Engineering. The road construction plans and associated improvements for the roundabout at Daniel Island Drive and Seven Farms Drive are also to be revised and resubmitted. Once in-house approval is obtained, the plans will be sent to Engineering for stamping. The next meeting will be held on June 21 with no issues of impact to Daniel Island on the agenda.
City of Charleston Board of Zoning Appeals – Site Design (BZA-SD) — The next meeting will be August 1. The agenda is not yet published.
City of Charleston Board of Zoning Appeals – Zoning (BZA-Z) — The most recent meeting was held on June 19. The request for a variance from the Daniel Island Master Plan to allow a deck/spa addition with an 8-foot rear setback (20-feet is required) at 99 Iron Bottom was discussed. The next meeting will take place on July 17. The agenda is not yet published.
City of Charleston Design Review Board (DRB) — The most recent meeting was held on June 18 with no issues of impact to Daniel Island discussed. The board will meet again on July 2. The agenda is not yet published.
City of Charleston Planning Commission (PC) — The most recent meeting was held on June 20 with no issues of impact to Daniel Island discussed. The next meeting will be held on July 18. The agenda is not yet published.
