High school seniors invited to enter Wellmore’s Silver Pen Essay Competition

Wellmore of Daniel Island has opened submissions for its 12th Annual Senior Living Communities Silver Pen Writing Competition. 

The contest invites local high school seniors to submit 1,000-word essays on the following topic: If you could have a conversation with anyone, living or deceased, who would it be and why? What would you discuss with that person? 

Wellmore will award up to $3,750 in cash prizes to three local winners to support their postgraduate plans. Essays will be reviewed by a panel of Wellmore members who select the topic, judge submissions, and present awards at a spring ceremony. The deadline to submit is Jan. 4, 2026, and winners will be announced in spring 2026.
