Thomas Moyer claims first Pigskin Pick'Em win of the 2026 season
Welcome back competitors to another season of the thrilling, finger-wringing, drama-inducing, high-fiving, team-chasing weekly contest of The Daniel Island News Pigskin Pick'em Challenge!
It's simple to play.
And not to mention, a whole lot of fun!
Just pick the teams listed below that you think will win this weekend. If you scribble down the most winning teams out of all the DI News contestants – and beat the VIP Sponsor of the Week – you'll win a $50 gift card and, maybe, more importantly, bragging rights.
The first winner of the 2026 season?
His name is Thomas Moyer of Daniel Island.
"I feel lucky to win," Thomas writes to us via email.
Moyer, who moved to Daniel Island with his wife in 2012, has been an avid Pigskin Pick'em participant.
Out of the 12 games on the docket last weekend, Thomas correctly picked nine.
Although he tells us the "competition is tough," Thomas easily danced to victory, smoking past our Daniel Island News picker (this week's VIP sponsor) who went 6-6.
For his top-notch skills, Moyer wins a $50 gift certificate to Heavy's Barburger. Congrats, Thomas!

Good luck, everyone!
