Readers speak out on newly-heightened hurricane predictions

Poll question: Do recent predictions that the 2023 hurricane season will be more active than previously thought have you worried or is it par for the course living in the Lowcountry?

• The increased risk of hurricanes has raised my insurance by quite a bit.
• It’s definitely a consideration. From tree thinning to upgrading to a retaining wall for my backyard pool, there are increased costs to living in a hurricane prone area.
