Agent says Daniel Island seeing a strong spring surge in housing market

In the month of April, 33 homes sold on Daniel Island, including a $6.275 million home at 151 Brailsford St. 

The total dollar volume of sales for April topped $68 million. 

"Daniel Island real estate saw a strong spring surge in April," said Tricia Peterson of Island House Real Estate, noting the jump was "driven by increased inventory, continued luxury buyer demand, and buyers re-entering the market as they adjust to current interest rates." 

As of May 21, 68 properties were under contract on Daniel Island, with 93 homes actively listed. 

"Many buyers appear to be accepting that mortgage rates in the 6% range are the 'new normal' rather than waiting indefinitely for major drops," Peterson said. "National pending home sales increased again in April despite rates remaining elevated." 

Six properties closed for more than $3 million in April, two of which sold for more than $5 million. The least expensive property sold was 130 River Landing Drive, Unit 9202, for $312,000. 

Peterson said spring is typically one of the stronger seasons for home sales and is currently being buoyed by more inventory hitting the market. 

"With more homes available and the lifestyle appeal of Daniel Island remaining stronger than ever, both buyers and sellers are becoming more active this season."
