Homebuyers 're-engaging' in real estate market on DI
As spring gets underway, Tricia Peterson of Island House Real Estate said buyers are searching for homes in the Daniel Island area, but inventory has not yet caught up.
"Phones are ringing with agents and buyers looking for properties that we simply don’t have," Peterson said, adding that "Daniel Islanders are continuing to stay put and do not want to leave this beautiful island, which is leaving a shortage of new single-family home inventory."
As of March 26, there were 81 active listings and 75 homes under contract, but Peterson noted, "A lot of the under contracts and current inventory are condos and townhomes."
In February, 15 homes sold, ranging from a unit on Bucksley Street at $425,000 to a property at 469 Lesesne Street purchased at $4.75 million.
Despite the lack of single-family homes available, Peterson said the appetite to buy is there.
"The market on Daniel Island is off to a strong start," she said. "Prices are continuing to rise, and buyers are re-engaging in the market."
