The holiday season is here and the real estate market has slowed down a bit. Ten homes sold during November. As of Dec. 8, there were 88 homes listed for sale. Of those, there were 50 active listings and 33 listings were under contract.
The total sales for the month were $14,627,000. The most expensive home sold in November was in Daniel Island Park on Brailsford Street that sold for $3 million. The least expensive home sold was a one bedroom condo on Bucksley Lane for $320,000.
According to Renee Reinert Pote, a slow-down during the holidays is common.
“During the months of any average November and December, we typically see sales slowdown due to the holiday season. This holiday season is no different. There are slightly less homes sold this November compared to last November,” she noted.
As far as the market goes, Pote believes it is still strong but not quite as fast-paced as it has been over the last year.
“The trend where homes sell quickly is not the norm anymore. Many agents who have been in the business for over 10 years are seeing the trend revert back to the days when homes took on average of 3 - 6 months (to sell) and sometimes longer. The market is still strong and the market still constantly fluctuates. That’s real estate,” Pote said.
