The Bishop England girls' and boys' swim teams had a stellar day at the South Carolina High School League Class AAA state championships last weekend at the University of South Carolina.
The girls won their fifth straight championship, while the boys finished a close runner-up.
"[The] girls took care of business from the beginning of the meet until the end. Total team effort," said head coach Rose Van Metre.
"The boys' [team] was pretty impressive, as all swimmers had personal bests for the season. Only brought 10 boys, and they swam really well. Lost by two points to [Academic] Magnet, who had 17 swimmers."
Van Metre added, "Very proud of the team."
