BE, PSHS lacrosse stars named to all-state teams
The Bishop England girls’ lacrosse team, which went 12-7 and reached the Class AAAA state championship game against Oceanside Collegiate Academy, landed seven players on the 2026 all-state lacrosse team, as selected by the state's lacrosse coaches association.
The Bishops’ first team selections included attack Gracie Seymour, defender Briar Marcogliese, midfielder Natalie Noone, and keeper Brooklynn Guidi.
Second-team selections included defenders Kate Moldenhauser and Whitney Jellison, and midfielder Patsy Jellison.
The Bishop boys, who went 10-7 and reached the second round of the playoffs, also landed seven players on the all-state team.
First-team selections included attack Ben Nesseralla, midfielder Will Garton, long-stick midfielder Tyler Cubello, and defensive midfielder Trip Grizzle.
The BE boys’ second-team selections included attack Tommy King, defender Wyatt Combs, midfielder Cole McCormack, and face-off Peter Rosato.
The Philip Simmons girls posted a 7-10 record and reached the second round of the Class AAAA playoffs.
Iron Horse defender Caroline Perez earned first-team all-state while attack Finley Neary and midfielder Laney Bredemann were second-team all-state.
The Iron Horse boys went 2-13 on the season and reached the second round of the playoffs.
Midfielder Taylor Chisum and keeper Nathan Carswell were second-round all-state selections.
SOCCER SELECTIONS
The Bishop England girls’ soccer team, which posted a 17-4 record and reached the Class AAAA state championship match against A.C. Flora, landed four players on the Class AAAA all-state team, as picked by the South Carolina High School Soccer Coaches Association.
Bishops picked for the team included midfielder Elizabeth Brady, forwards Charlotte Cline and Sophia DeMarco, and midfielder Reese Woodard.
The Bishop boys posted a 15-6 record this spring and reached the Class AAAA Lower State championship. They had three players named all-state: midfielder Trey Hall, defender Payton Lyttle, and defender Dominic Smith.
