Crusaderettes Dance Team wins world championship title

The Christ Our King-Stella Maris School Crusaderettes Dance Team made school history by earning the school’s first World Championship title.

The competitive dance team, composed of 16 girls in fifth through eighth grade, competed in the National Dance Team Championship and World School Performance Championship Feb. 4-5 in Orlando, Florida.

They competed against the best school dance teams in the country and the world to earn sixth place in the nation in both the Hip Hop and Game Day divisions, and World Champions in the Pom division.

The Crusaderettes Dance Team, coached by Brittney Frayser and Erin Byrnes, is a feeder program for the Bishop England Varsity Pom Squad.

Dancers from Daniel Island include Bella Adams, Holland Carimi, Sutton Carimi, McClain Cook, Cate Emmel, Ivey Hicks, Kallyn Long, and Gianna Tuorto.
