Fish for trout on the falling tide and redfish at low tide

After the Garmin Live Scope episode, Brody and I are once again on talking terms. It was good to put all the drama behind us and get back to fishing. Our plan was to target trout on the falling tide and then switch to redfish at dead low tide. We invited Elliott (my son) to join us.
We launched about an hour before low tide and made a short run to a small creek with lots of oyster bars. This time of year, trout hold in the deeper channels and holes adjacent to the bars. Using the trolling motor to slowly move our way into the creek, Elliott watched the depth finder and looked for trout. It took a bit of searching but we eventually found them.
Elliott and I dropped Z-Man Slim SwimZ (3” finesse swim baits) on 1/5-ounce jigs and let the current move the lures along the bottom. Boom! We doubled up on trout. The hot trout bite continued until the tide went slack. Then the bite turned off like a switch.
Brody said it was time to target redfish. Elliott and I agreed. While running to a shallow area in the Wando River that holds redfish in the winter, Brody began barking at a dock and sat down next to the trolling motor.
This is the universal sign to stop and fish here. That is exactly what we did. Elliott and I cast our lures to the dock pilings, and both hooked up with redfish. They were not particularly large. However, they were plentiful and hungry.
As we set up my iPhone to take a photo, I thought who needs a Garmin Live Scope when you have a fish finding and stock trading dog?
