Submitted by Kelly Creech - Kelly Creech spotted a “little” Datana ministra, also known as yellownecked caterpillar. When she came closer for a photo, the critter immediately transformed into a threatening pose.

Submitted by Joel Crow - Joel Crow saw his first fawn on the island, who kept close to its mother. “They are so much redder here than I’m used to seeing in other parts of the south – gorgeous!” Crow said.

Submitted by Lindsey Wiese - “I heard what sounded like an injured baby bird outside my window and opened the shutters to find this unfolding,” said Lindsey Wiese. After snapping the photo Wiese and her husband saved the frog from being eaten by the snake.

Submitted by Shea Gibson - Shea Gibson and his children enjoy “frog hunting” at night, which is when they stumbled across this bullfrog near the ponds on the trail behind Blakeway Street. They also enjoy looking for snakes, lizards and all sorts of critters around the island. “We love the night life,” Gibson said.
